Saturday 13 August 2022 Every Saturday at 9:00am   As the North Norfolk Coast begins to move out of Covid-19 lockdown, and tourism businesses re-open, more planned events are taking place. These are just listings, so please follow links and check with organisers of events before assuming events are running.   Free weekly event which starts at Hunstanton Sailing Club each Saturday morning at 9am. We welcome runners of all abilities and children under 11 years accompanied by a parent/adult. The course is 5000m (5K) long. The course is at Hunstanton North Promenade, Hunstanton. The course is run on a mixture of tarmac paths (with the winter course all being on tarmac paths) and grass . Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place. There will be two courses; the main course will be the spring to autumn course and an alternative winter course. The spring to autumn course starts at the sailing club and goes towards the cliffs heading up a zig zag slope and around the Hunstanton Heritage Gardens. Go past the café on your right and turn left along the cliff tops towards the lighthouse and to St Edmund’s Chapel ruins. Looping round five benches, head back towards the café and at this point, loop around the shelter. Repeat this loop along the clifftop and a shortened clifftop loop heading back past the café on your left and around the Heritage Gardens leading back down the zigzag slope to the finish at the sailing club. The winter course is an out and back course which will begin at the sailing club and go along the promenade beside the sea, past the Rainbow Amusement Park, approximately 1.25km to the boat launch ramp and then returns near the start and is repeated. The promenade is a hard surface and generally flat and runs adjacent to the beach.
